Urban Outfitters Assistant Store Manager - 2424 Kalakaua Ave., Pualeilani Atrium Shops, Honolulu

Reports To: Store Brand Leader

 

Overview        

 

To support the Store Manager and oversee the operations of the store by assuming total store accountability for sales, service, profitability and loss prevention. To achieve a store environment that fosters creativity and inspires the Urban Outfitters customer. Ensure appropriate feedback and guidance is given in order to execute employee development.  Build community relationships that directly reflect the Urban culture.

 

Experience + Qualifications

 

  • Two to three years of retail management experience in a Managment position
  • An understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market
  • Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and a full understanding of their business
  • Strong record of developing talented individuals at the Team Leader level and above

 

Bonus Eligibility

 

The Store Management Team and the Visual Team will receive a bonus by achieving their quarterly Omni goal and payroll plan.  The Omni bonus is based on the employee’s annual salary, and is payable on a quarterly basis.

  • Strategically recruit, train, develop and coach a productive store team
  • Maintain store staffing requirements to support forecasted sales and payroll budgets
  • Coach and counsel employees by setting obtainable goals, utilizing Individual Development Plan (IDP’s) and providing constructive feedback
  • Recognize and develop talented individuals for advancement and growth within the organization

 

Communication + Collaboration

 

  • Able to problem solve by challenging the process in order to determine the best solution
  • Model the way for the store team by inspiring, motivating, and encouraging teamwork 
  • Ensure management is trained to conduct productive daily and department meetings
  • Coach others to effectively delegate projects while at the same time allowing others the creativity to succeed by making their own decisions
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal forms

 

Customer Experience

 

  • Take initiative as a leader by overseeing all levels of customer service and by setting daily goals and expectations to create a positive store environment
  • Exhibit excellent floor presence by training and coaching the store team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management
  • Achieve Company-average mystery shop results by guiding the team to uphold the Company’s customer service standard
  • Maintains and ensures professionalism throughout the store

 

Business Acumen

 

  • Lead the team to perform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all Company policies and procedures
  • Assume total accountability for the store’s profitability and guide team members to utilize Company reports to react to trends and drive business
  • Achieve the store shrinkage goals by training loss prevention awareness and overseeing adherence to loss prevention practices
  • Achieve a functional Shipment Processing system to ensure that merchandise is placed promptly and the sales floor is fully stocked
  • Administer Company emergency and safety procedures in order to protect employees and customers against accidents and incidents
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to multitask planning, organization and executing projects by priority

 

Merchandising + Display

 

  • Support the Store Merchandiser in facilitating the relationship between the management and visual teams in order to enhance the store environment and efficiently execute all merchandising projects
  • Lead others to understand and interpret current fashion trends in local markets in order to generate creative solutions
  • Take an active role in ensuring floor sets for the store are organized, scheduled appropriately, cleanly executed and completed timely
