Transportation Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator is a key member of the transportation team and is responsible coordinating transportation for our distribution centers and stores.  The Transportation Coordinator supports both the Transportation Manager and Director of Transportation to expedite the delivery of shipments in a timely manner to the stores, distribution centers and Ecomm facilities. Transportation Coordinator ensures that internal and external customers receive the highest level of service.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Freight Bill Audit and Payment, processing all freight bills, inbound and outbound, for payment, including equipment rental, yard rental, yard operations, repair invoices, and any others as needed.
  • Create Monthly Accounting Accruals for month end close.
  • Manage Hot Sheet Requests from buyers and submit to the DC’s as needed.
  • Manage Missing Paperwork Requests, providing BOL documentation to the DC’s as requested. Track requests by carrier and vendor to determine repeat offenders.
  • Vendor Set Ups in the TMS as requested.
  • Collate Outbound Scorecards weekly for both DC’s and verify accuracy of service information provided within.
  • Track Late Deliveries for both DC’s by carrier and store.
  • Track Store Feedback regarding the delivery process.
  • Complete Daily Outbound Case Forecast and distribute.
  • Truck Cancellations and Adds on outbound for both DC’s.
  • Pull and review trailer location report weekly.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Transportation

Additional Responsibilities

  • Follows a flexible schedule, including regularly scheduled changes to shift and work assignments with similar but department-specific responsibilities and objectives.
  • Follow all established facility safety and security standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • High School and/or equivalent years of experience
  • 4 or more years of applicable experience in Logistics/Transportation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software suite
  • Effective time management in order to meet dynamic goals and deadlines
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
