TECHNICAL FREELANCE DESIGNER - Women's RTW

We work with fortune 500 retail clients as well as design our direct to customer private label Kinderkind Kids (www.kinderkindkids.com)

TECHNICAL FREELANCE DESIGNER –EXPERIENCE IN CATEGORIES PREFERRED: Women’s RTW

Specific Responsibilities

• The Technical Designer will work directly with the Designer to execute fittings for ladies ready to wear
• Lead and conduct fittings
• Ensure that the fit corrections and construction corrections are accurate
• Generate accurate and detailed technical construction and spec packages for production 
• Maintaining best practices and construction details of the product with consistency

Skills and Requirements

• Experienced with fitting missy and plus size. Kmart Sears experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of fit, construction and how to execute and improve the fit of a garment
• Strong knowledge in technical fabrications a plus
• Must have experience with knit and woven fabrications
• Proven experience with the entire design process (time planning, design steps, production/execution of design solution.)
• Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
• Ability to sketch at a fast pace
• Extensive knowledge of garment construction, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim
• 5+ years experience as a technical designer
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, and Mac computers
