TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Plus Size Jacket / Outerwear

Rapidly growing contemporary denim and outerwear company is looking for a Technical Designer. The technician should specialize in plus size jacket/outerwear.  Needs to know how to do tech packs, patterns, specs, grading, etc.

Mandarin knowledge a plus!

Plus size knowledge mandatory!

Someone who can communicate with factories in China. 

• Responsible for conducting the fittings for outerwear/jackets and some denim product categories and processing the fit comments accordingly.
• Manage the sample development process and is responsible for generating computerized specification packages and maintaining them through fit approval.
• Work closely with Design and Production teams during fittings and is responsible for the execution of the fit comments accordingly in a timely manner.  
• Communicate via E-mail with the overseas vendors (mainly China) regarding comments on fit.
• Assure seasonal deadlines are met for assigned categories.
• Interface professionally and works effectively in group settings.

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in technical design. Must have Plus Size Experience
• Fit experience with working knowledge of pattern corrections.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Detail oriented, with strong organizational capabilities.
• Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to problem solve flexible/adaptable in a fast paced environment.
