Technical Designer - Contemporary Women's

TECHNICAL DESIGNER

Responsibilities:

• Setting up production tech packs, POMs, grade rules,and technical sketches

• Releasing tech packs, patterns, and sew by samples to overseas and domestic factories

• Managing your accounts, tracking samples, and maintaining deadlines to meet delivery

• Prepare for fittings by gathering samples, filling out the fit log, pulling style folders, & measuring samples

• Attending fittings and taking diligent and accurate notes

• Prepping samples to be sent to customers for private label accounts and following up with customer comments

• Sending detailed fit comments to overseas and domestic factories

• Checking factory patterns for balance and fit issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in fashion design,technical design, or similar

• 3-5 years experience as a technical designer / fit tech

• Pattern making experience preferred

• Ability to fit on a live model or dress form

• Experience working on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with ability to create detailed sketches showing fit corrections

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be willing to work in a fast-paced fashion environment

• Must have a great sense of urgency

• Must work well under pressure

• Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Windows operating systems, creating & organizing files) Strong excel skill is necessary

• Must be very detail-oriented

• Must be punctual
