TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Denim

Overview:

Kellwood designs, manufactures, and markets a growing collection of premier fashion brands across a broad range of consumer lifestyles including Briggs NY, Democracy, Jolt, My Michelle, and XOXO.

Responsibilities:

• knowledge of Technical Package creation from style sketch through construction detail, trims, and fabric specifications

• Sketching in Illustrator

• Very proficient in measuring and departmental organization

• Ability to conduct fit sessions and make fit comments

• Previous experience in junior categories including bottoms

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Web PDM system is ideal

• Experience communicationg Fit Comments to overseas factories

• Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator software

• Knowledge of garment construction

• Strong PC application skills (i.e. Windows, Excel, Word, Access)

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Very detailed and focused

Education and Experience:

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in fashion design or comparable program

• 2-3 years’ relevant experience
