Position Purpose and Scope   Store Selling Managers support the Assistant Manager and lead the Associate and Supervisor teams in exceeding customer expectations and achieving financial goals through talent development. They deliver the Ralph Lauren Experience by creating connections, offering hospitality, providing recommendations, exploring and listening. Store Selling Managers succeed through living our service philosophy of being a driver, a brand ambassador, inclusive, flexible and proactive.  Their role is essential for advising, developing others and improving performance. Results are achieved through optimizing customer engagement, talent management and increasing productivity, while delivering the highest level of integrity standards.

Maintaining Brand Standards

  • Ensures maintenance of product presentation to brand standards at the baseline expectation

  • Responsible for pricing execution, signage and ensuring promotion & markdown compliance

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization brand standards

Talent Management

  • Asks for and applies feedback to improve performance

  • Provides feedback, coaching and guidance to develop Sales Associates

  • Instructs staff on how to handle difficult and complicated transactions

  • Training, developing and leading Sales Associates

  • Promotes motivation and direction to meet sales goals

  • Supports Associate orientation

Business Objectives

  • Greet, assist and respond to customer inquiries and complaints

  • Product selling and service expert in the store to drive sales

  • Anticipates obstacles and takes action to get efforts back on track

  • Ensures opening/ closing task completion

  • Helps customers by providing product knowledge, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions and preparing merchandise for delivery

Experience

o    Two to three year’s retail experience

 

Education

o    High school graduate/equivalent; Bachelor’s/Associates degree preferred

 

Physical Requirements

o    Ability to communicate with customers and store personnel

o    Ability to maneuver around the sales floor, stock/dressing room, cashwrap and office

o    Ability to operate the register

o    Ability to stand, move and walk for multiple hours

o    Lift up to 30 pounds and moderate climbing required

Availability

o    Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require day/evening, weekend and may include overnight shifts
