Store Planning & Visual Design Intern - CALVIN KLEIN

 

The Store Design Intern will assist and get exposure to ongoing projects/studies per Calvin Klein store design + planning.  The Intern will be exposed to all aspects of design process:  Concept design, Design Development, Construction Design and Execution as well as Visual.  

  • Will shadow the VP Global Store Design and VP Store Planning and learn to prepare design documentation for prototypical shop, showroom, tradeshow and fixture concepts. Will learn how drawings are defined as plans, elevations, sections and 3D computer generated renderings, emphasis on 3D.
  • Will learn and get exposure to other store planning and visual staff members in the in preparing presentation documents and material set-up.  
  • Will learn the specific vendors of materials that are used in prototypical designs in order to maintain a materials sample reference library for Creative Services and/or regional offices and will be able to provide input to team members in selecting/sourcing new materials when needed.  
  • Intern will be exposed to prototype fixture shop drawings and mock-ups produced by contractors.

     

Candidates should possess:

  • Interior Design or Architecture field of study 
  • Must be able to read & interpret architectural drawings
  • Auto cad
  • Sketch up
  • V-ray
  • Photoshop
  • inDesign
  • Illustrator

 

Additional Program Information:

 

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program and be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • The paid internship is based out of our NY offices and is not eligible for relocation or visa sponsorship.
  • Candidates will be expected to work a minimum of 16 hours per week and can work a maximum of 28 hours per week
  • The Fall Internship session will begin Monday, September 11th and conclude Friday, December 8th
