Reporting Relationship: The Store Designer – Rendering & Strategy reports into Director, Store Design

Role Summary:

The Store Designer – Rendering & Strategy is responsible for working with the entire design team to develop new concepts and visualize new ideas and thoughts and to develop these ideas and graphic design into high-quality, photo-realistic, renderings and presentation decks. This role is also responsible for assisting the Director and VP in preparing presentations of projects for all senior management approval.

Major Responsibilities:

 

  1. Develop renderings for new concepts to communicate information to senior executive team
  2. Manage design development of ideas and high level thoughts into visual reality
  3. Provide professional level communications tools to work with investors and media to help grow HBC Global business. 
  4. Reviewing creative information from outside consultants
  5. Co-ordinate with Executive, Merchant, and Design/ Planning groups to provide regular project and progress updates
  6. Research new trends and ideas and maintain resource library of current and archived products
  7. Manage the design process of projects that are produced by outside consultants, making sure that all corporate criteria, standards, scope are maintained
  8. Be able to develop a design package, hold merchandise meetings and maintain project schedules, in collaboration with the Store Planning Department
  9. Be able to direct and coordinate all design needs for new stores and renovations

 

Qualifications

Personal Characteristics:

The successful candidate must be an expert communicator and be comfortable working with senior executives. He/she should be able to work independently and will have strong organizational and time management skills, with great attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and exceptional follow through. He/she must be comfortable working in an ever changing environment and be able to quickly shift focus and priorities learn. 

 

Professional Qualifications:

  • At least 2yrs as a Renderer
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD, including 3D modeling
  • Strong computer rendering skills such as In-Design, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Illustrator are essential.
  • Must have presentation skills and be competent with both computer aided and hand sketch formats - with particular focus on quick hand drawn sketches.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

Educational Credentials:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or Graphic Design.
