Major Responsibilities

 

 

The Store Planning & Design Manager’s primary focus will be the development and delivery of Design Development documents on schedule and on budget.The Project Manager will support the Senior Manager of Store Planning in meeting the Store Planning/Design and Construction mandates on major projects, various roll-outs, and reflow projects.

 

 

Role responsibilities include: 

 

  1. Develops project plans with internal and external stake holders on all Store Planning and Design Projects
  2. Participates in various Store Planning initiatives to ensure a smooth execution of all project related activities
  3. Ensures thorough communication with all internal and external merchant teams, construction managers, consultants and agencies
  4. Liaise with the Construction Group, Merchant Group and Visual Group Managers    to aid the completion of all merchant and capital based projects
  5. Communicate design requirements to General Contractors, Subs, Millworkers, Architects and Engineers
  6. Monitors and facilitates the completion of all projects on a timely basis within budget
  7. Create project solutions and manage the implementation of the various concepts    
  8. Work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize workload accordingly
  9. Ensures shop concepts and merchandise initiatives meet with corporate procedures and guidelines
  10. Liaise with external brand designers during the design and planning stage to understand their needs while maintaining Saks OFF-5TH’s best interest.

 

 

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications

 

  • 5 years relevant experience.
  • Sound understanding of the retail/ store planning and design / construction industry
  • Basic user of  Auto CAD 2012, Word, Excel
  • 3d visualization skills (Sketchup or 3dMax ) are an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset
  • Knowledge of current construction practices and materials, millworking, M&E design, lighting design
  • Comprehension and production of construction drawing set
  • Has a proven track record to effectively and strategically work in a dynamic, fast paced environment to deliver corporate objective
  • Intuitive creative design sense
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

 

Educational Credentials

 

Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in relevant discipline. MBA or other advanced degree is an asset.
