Sr. Manager Payroll - PVH Corp.

Manage and coordinates activities of the Payroll Department with multiple companies, states and labor unions.

 

Payroll Processing – Weekly

  • Manage two payroll supervisors  for both Corporate and Retail  in the Weekly Payroll cycle, including:
  • Payroll Balancing
  • Direct Deposit Transmission (done on Tuesday)
  • Payroll Close to feed to General Ledger (done on Tuesday)
  • Printing of Checks/Receipts (done on Tuesday)
  • Verify the Store Payroll Interfaces
  • Review the check/receipt registers and approve
  • Run the “Over $1,000” verification report and the “Gross/Net” verification report.
  • Review and investigate discrepancies
  • Run Overtime Report for Group VP, Operations
  • Responsible for managing all reporting for the department

 

Payroll Processing – Semimonthly

  • Manage two payroll supervisors for both Corporate and Retail   in the Semimonthly Payroll Cycle processing and printing (done twice a month).
  • Verify setup of deductions
  • Verify deductions are withheld correctly
  • Review the check/receipt registers and approve
  • Review the PR162 verification report
  • Distribute reports to Payroll Associates to investigate differences.  Review their findings.
  • Calculate and process special corporate bonus payments on an as-needed basis.

 

Payroll Processing – Manuals

  • Review and approve all manual check requests
  • Review and approve check register
  • Calculate and process special bonus payments on an as-needed basis.

 

Merrill Lynch Stock options:

- Maintain associate Tax Strings in the system

- Update system for new and /or promoted associates

- Enter RSU information through EIB into Workday system to update taxable income.

- Train Payroll Supervisors

 

Other Payroll Tasks

  • Review (Payroll Close) for any invalid or inactive accounts.
  • Notify Jr. Financial Analyst of the accounts to be validated
  • Oversee the validation of IDOC report to GL form Workday
  • Investigate any suspense items
  • Review Payroll Posting to GL each payroll run
  • Account Analysis verification of the Accrued Payroll Account and Clearing Account on a Monthly Basis
  • Investigate any payroll posting questions for Accountants and Division Controllers
  • Review and correct miscellaneous payroll deposits such as payroll overpayment for an associate.
  • Set up and transfer of Payroll Reports to COLD storage.
  • Miscellaneous adjustments for Corporate Benefits.
  • Inform HR and Store Operations of changes in Minimum Wage laws and other statutes of payroll consideration.
  • Review new department set up with HRIS and Corporate AccountingWork with HR Managers to update policy and procedures related to payroll processing (i.e. disability payments, workers comp, benefit time, workflow procedures)
  • Review of all SSP set up and payments.
  • Review and approve all union payments, garnishment payments and PVH Cares Payments.
  • Assist with any Payroll department projects as needed.
  • Train any Payroll staff associate on systems

 

Payroll Education

  • Attend annual APA year-end seminar and other Payroll-related seminars to keep up-to-date with ever-changing payroll laws and regulations
  • Read monthly Payroll new letters
  • Stay up to date in Workday Community on changes to Workday payroll
  •  Back up to updating the Payroll THREAD page

 

Experience:                     

7 + years of internal payroll experience.  Workday and Kronos knowledge a must.  Proven experience with complex financial systems. Knowledge of Merrill Lynch Stock System a Plus.  Knowledge of Pay Card Programs a Plus.  Experience with unions and multi-state payroll.   Management experience in a company of 10,000+ employees.  Must have managed 2+ associates.

 

Education:              

Four-year college degree, CPP is a plus

 

Skills:                        

Advanced  in MS products (Access, Excel( v look up and pivot tables) and Word).  Knowledge of in-house payroll and Time and Attendance Systems.  Knowledge of multi-state taxation and payroll laws.
