About the Position:

Reporting to the Manager of Strategy, the Sr. Analyst is responsible for supporting the Ann Inc. leadership team with all aspects of the Strategic Planning process. The Sr. Analyst – Strategic Planning will help define the future direction of the Ann Inc. brands by assisting in the development of strategic initiatives and long-term growth strategy. The role requires agility and creativity to generate actionable insights based on ambiguous information. In addition to Strategic Planning, the role might allow the Sr. Analyst to flex muscles in a project management capacity for special projects. An ideal candidate would bring an eagerness to learn, a strong attention to detail and an ability to thrive in fast-paced settings.
Responsibilities:

  • Create Board of Directors and Leadership Team-level presentations as part of the Strategic Planning cycle
  • Assist key members of the Leadership Team in preparation for these meetings by developing relevant cross-functional insights
  • Maintain the Strategic Planning calendar - escalate any concerns
  • Conduct research into new areas of growth aligned on with the Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional partners to develop materials and research specific initiatives
  • Present research recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Identify, track and analyze macroeconomic and industry trends impacting Ann Inc.
  • Perform required deep-dive analyses to understand drivers of growth/risk to business
  • Synthesize research findings for Leadership Team highlighting implications on business
  • Surface and vet new tools and research to empower stakeholders across cross-functional teams
  • Analyze transaction-level and other data to help develop competitive intelligence informed strategies for corporate, merchandising and other business functions
  • Develop business cases for new growth strategies across brands
  • Opportunity to be involved in special projects to drive growth for the Ann Inc. brands
  • Surface process and other opportunities to continuously move faster as an organization


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Science, Finance, Mathematics, Business)
  • 2-3 years of work experience in analytics-heavy fields like market research, management consulting, and/or investment banking
  • Passion for retail – working knowledge of retail preferred
  • Strong analytical skills – extensive experience with Excel (e.g., survey analysis, financial modeling skills)
  • Demonstrative ability in pulling out insights from data
  • Excellent written and Powerpoint skills, and ability to synthesize key insights from different research sources
  • Experience with a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Demonstrative ability in being creative in getting to a solution fast (ability to be “80-20”)
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous fast-paced settings
  • Advanced project management skills (e.g., setting of priorities/milestones, communication and follow-through, time management, ability to build effective partnerships)
  • Strong presenter and listener
  • Demonstrated skills in working cross-functionally in an organization, synthesizing data from various sources and crafting cohesive, strategic, actionable recommendations
