NEW YORK STYLE is a division of Shanghai-Style Fashion Accessories Co., Ltd, a 15+ year manufacturer ($50M+) of fast fashion accessories within the Specialty, Mass, and Department Store Channels. Our expertise is in Private Label and Branded Accessories. Shanghai Style owns and operates three factories in Asia and has offices in New York and Shanghai. Our core categories are knit headwear/scarf/glove, woven scarf, baseball caps, straw hat, fashion headwear and men’s neckwear. We are a manufacturer for key clients H&M, Forever 21, Cotton On, Primark, Claire’s, Sears, Kmart, Levi’s, Quiksilver and others. We are seeking an ambitious, “go-getter” with established relationships in the retail industry who is eager to open, grow and maintain new business opportunities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
In this position, you will showcase your interpersonal skills as you prospect, cultivate, manage and maintain business relationships. This role requires interaction with Sourcing Managers, Product Managers and Buyers.
• Identify and open prospective retailers & brand/licensee wholesalers using personal contacts and cold calling
• Manage the overall sales process which includes sales presentation, presentation recaps with internal design & merchandising teams, quotation, account management
• Maintain account relationships for major retail and wholesale partners and deliver exceptional customer service
• Work closely with internal design and merchandising teams regarding samples, order production and management of customer timelines
• Research fashion trends, silhouettes, and retailer assortments
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 5+ years sales experience in cold weather accessories, fashion accessories and fashion headwear. Experience selling backpacks and socks is an added plus.
• Experience in working for manufacturers and/or wholesalers supplying to Specialty, Mass, Mid-Tier and Department store trade channels
• Must be a self-starter that can work through rejection and be able to maximize business through building partnerships
• Existing client book that includes major accounts is highly desired
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficient understanding of Retail Math
• Highly motivated, professional, dependable, results driven, collaborative team player
• Customer service-oriented with the ability to handle customer needs with ease and professionalism
• Domestic & International travel required
COMPENSATION:
- Salary plus Commission
