SENIOR PLANNER
General Overview:
Reporting to the VP of Retail this position is responsible for developing and maintaining the annual budget and forecast by division and store. Components include sales, stock, purchases, markdowns and margin. Focus is on providing analysis and recommendations to the Merchandising and Store Teams to maximize business. Additionally, coordinates planning and forecasting with the Retail Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
- Develops annual Budget and Goal by division and store. Divisions include Collection, Menswear, Shoes, Handbags and Accessories. Components include Sales, Markdowns, Receipts, Average Stock Plan and Gross Margin
- Provides weekly Financial Report to Retail Team and corporate Senior Management
- Determines weekly stock needs; Directs Assistant Buyers on reorder process
- Manages the Promotional Calendar
- Responsible for providing recommendations and projections on promotional strategies
- Develops Buy Plans by division pre market
- Directs Retail Analyst on key projects including classification analysis, seasonal market recaps, and sizing analysis
- Provides capacity analysis for current and new store openings
- Annual Sales to Budget and Goal
- Inventory Turn vs. Budget
- Markdown Management
- Gross Margin Rate
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 5-7 years Retail Planning experience at the manager level
- Experience with and or exposure to the luxury market, multiple classifications or vendors/stores
