OVERVIEW:

MEET THE TEAM:

The Corporate Planning and Strategic Initiatives team owns the tops-down sales, margin, and inventory planning for all New York and Company   channels (retail, e-commerce, outlet). Corporate Planning plays an integral role developing annual operating budget and monthly forecast for all key metrics while also driving profitable in-season inventory management.  From monthly Open-to-Buy reviews to Annual Strategic Planning, this team is responsible for the rigorous analysis and reporting that directly impacts the company’s bottom-line results and strategic initiatives. 

As a Senior Analyst, you will be an integral part of an entrepreneurial and process-driven team leading key in-season and pre-season processes.  You will become an industry expert through exposure to many cross-functional teams, including planning, allocation, finance, merchandising, marketing, and sourcing, providing the critical and timely reporting packages to facilitate effective and efficient decision-making.

We are seeking someone with a passion for retail who loves problem-solving, thrives in a cross-functional work environment and has a strong desire to work with multiple stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with cross-functional team to develop sales, markdown, and inventory targets that reconcile merchandising strategies with the company’s financial goals .
  • Participate in and lead many areas of annual, seasonal, and monthly sales, margin, and inventory planning with cross-functional partners in planning and finance.
  • Deliver consistent and compelling weekly business updates that provide concise, fact-based diagnostics regarding business performance, thereby facilitating timely decision-making.
  • Provide hindsight recaps that clearly articulate highlights and learnings in order to influence future business strategies.
  • Create ad-hoc analysis that provides additional insight into business trends/performance that will inform future forecasts and plans.
  • Establish track record of clear communication up, down, and across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of experience.  Retail experience in Merchandising, Planning, Production, or Consulting a plus.
  • Ability to influence a matrix organization.
  • Strategic thinking with strong business partnership skills.
  • Ability to drive and own work stream with strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in presenting to leaders, working with cross functional teams to drive results

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus.
