The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the success of the national and store brands through marketing, advertising and customer planning. The position is also responsible for providing a consumer perspective into the business using facts, data, and sound judgment. Establishing effective relationships with Sales and other cross-functional teams is critical.
Provide cross-functional project leadership to implement product, packaging, pricing and other changes across the portfolio of In-House Brands and other brands
Lead national advertising and public relations to drive Branded sales growth
Establish and articulate scope, strategy and objectives of key brand-building efforts to align internal teams and company leadership
Become expert in product features and benefits of the company and competitive bedding products, and create systems to effectively manage this information
Develop a deep understanding of consumer behavior in the bedding category and bring insightful recommendations to the business
Develop and execute consumer research to address key opportunities
Manage trademarks and patents with legal team
Work with Sales Analysis and Category Management to evaluate performance, identify root causes and areas of opportunity, and drive increased sales
Develop clear and concise packaging, in-store merchandising, and other graphics briefs for internal design team and external agencies
Develop and maintain business plans for In House Brands to deliver sales objectives
Collaborate with Product Development to ensure a continuous stream of consumer-driven innovation that drives sales growth
Create customer-facing presentation content to be used by Sales including insights, brand plans, package assessments, and other content as needed
Collaborate with Sales to develop customer-specific strategies and plans, and participate as needed in the selling process
Lead preparation for Home & Textiles Market in March and September, in collaboration with Product Development, Packaging, Sales and design team
Develop thorough understanding of competitive products and positioning, and use this to sharpen brand positioning and drive sales
Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies as needed based on analysis and feedback
At least 3+ years of successful experience with a combination of Brand or Product Management, Customer Marketing, and/or Sales experience
Experience working closely with Sales to drive customer success
Ability to critically evaluate opportunities, clarify needs, and mobilize a response
Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Ability to communicate and influence across the organization by articulating a position, alternative approaches, and recommendations
Deep curiosity and desire to learn about the bedding category and textile technology
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or technical field.
