Overview

G-III Apparel Group, the world's premier designer and manufacturer of quality leather outerwear, dresses, women's suits, sportswear and accessories, with a comprehensive portfolio of over 30 licensed and wholly-owned brands, including Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Levi’s, Dockers, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Ivanka Trump, and G.H. Bass, among others is seeking a Senior Production Manager to join its team based in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Create costing charts and update with changes on daily basis.
  • Work with Fabric, Design, Fabric and Tech to have accurate information to place buys.
  • Manage wovens team of 3-4 people.
  • Must have the knowledge of how to estimate pricing, i.e. yield, cmt, etc.
  • Work with Design from start of each season to ensure baseline fob & allocate to the right factories.
  • Push suppliers for the best prices and deliveries.
  • Work directly with 10-20 overseas vendors, over 300 styles per season.
  • Issue and maintain purchase orders.
  • Daily email communication with Logistics regarding air & sea bookings.
  • Daily email communication with QC regarding quality issues.
  • Work with Sales teams for projections, minimums, deliveries, sample requests.
  • Manage product changes, WIP and shipping.
  • Create and maintain shipping reports to Sales.
  • Knowledge of garment testing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in overseas production management.
  • Strong cost negotiating skills combined with a detailed knowledge and understanding of garment cost breakdown.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate with Design/PD, Fabric, Sales.
  • Experience in working vendor direct.
  • Understanding of product development process.
  • Strong Excel and other computer skills.
  • Strong follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
