Purpose:

Support the Marketing Operations team through creating and producing innovative design

solutions, for both digital and traditional marketing, that meet marketing strategies from concept

to completion.

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop effective marketing materials to support brand initiatives.
  •  Lead art direction and production of creative assets including emails, web and print.
  •  Oversee all projects from concept to final approval ensuring integrity of creative concept,
  • and brand guidelines are kept in focus.
  •  Solve creative and communicative issues based on brief.
  •  Use effective time management and organizational skills to maintain effective workflow
  • and meet deadlines.
  •  Manage photography requirements including sourcing stock photography, locating
  • appropriate existing photography and coordinating photo shoots for new photography.
  •  Ensure proper sign off process; proofreads and verifies content & specs for all projects.
  •  Ensure creative/concept transfers effectively into French language and bilingual
  • versions.
  • Ensure all final art is print-ready.
  •  Post production file management including internal and external requirements.
  •  Mentor junior graphic designers including reviewing work to ensure high quality.
  •  Work effectively with outside suppliers such as photographers and printers.
  •  Stay current with the latest developments in the field of design and production, familiar
  • with industry marketing programs and ability to troubleshoot Mac issues

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

 

  • A degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  •  5 or more years’ experience in graphic design in a retail/marketing environment.
  •  Excellent typography skills.
  •  Excellent knowledge of pre-press file preparation including font management and
  • support file links.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud on Mac platform, Flash, gif animation, ftp,
  • photo retouching, Google docs and apps.
  •  Knowledge of digital proofing systems and marketing content tools.
  •  Working knowledge of html.
  • Direct flyer and email creative and production experience an asset.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English
  • language.
  •  During critical project timelines some overtime hours and/or assistance with production
  • work will be required
