THE ROLE:

Reporting into the VP, Finance, the Sr. Finance Associate (Analyst to Manager level, contingent on experience) will be responsible for the day-to-day financial support of corporate domestic wholesale and international for footwear and accessories, including The Jewelry Group.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Liase with management team across wholesale footwear and accessories on the creation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and 5 year plans
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of the financial close
  • Dynamically identify and track risks and opportunities to financial performance
  • Prepare and review profit and loss statements with senior finance management and division heads
  • Financial performance analysis and reporting:
  • Provide the Group with segment and brand reporting
  • Support the preparation of key management presentations and MD&A
  • Support in the preparation of variance analysis
  • Various day to day financial and operational projects as they arise, including supporting ad-hoc financial modelling projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and MBA or CPA an asset
  • 5+ years of financial business planning analysis experience, required
  • Ability to work independently and the mindset to come to management with both questions and potential solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven, with the understanding that you communicate if the deadline is an issue (not looking for a YES person!)
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must
  • Experience with SAP FICO / Hyperion, preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
