Major Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting supports the banner
accounting and finance processes to ensure all monthly and quarterly functions
are completed accurately and on time within company policy. This is a senior accounting role, and the
incumbent will be responsible for handling more complex accounting transactions
and reconciliations to provide coaching and guidance to junior team members and
to the offshore accounting team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the month end
close process to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Approve weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounting journal
entries
- Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations
- Approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide support and coaching to overseas and junior team
members
- Provide support to our internal key stakeholders in
Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, etc.
- Support external and internal audit process
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis to support
Corporate activities, including optimization and transition of additional work
to HBC India
- Work with the wider accounting and leadership teams to
develop common processes for accounting / close processes to drive efficiency
and cost effectiveness
Qualifications
Personal Characteristics:
The successful candidate must be an expert communicator,
with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build strong business
relationships. He/she has excellent organizational and time management skills
and will be comfortable exercising good judgement and understands the importance
of confidentiality. He/she is a self-starter, a problem-solver and should be
comfortable working in an ever changing environment.
Professional Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible accounting and
financial reporting experience in large, complex publicly listed organizations
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions with ability to
identify potential accounting issues within
complex transactions and propose effective resolution
- Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP),
experience with foreign currency translation, impairment testing, accounting
contract review, internal controls management etc
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience
with Oracle GL / Oracle Fusions, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion
Essbase
- Experience with complex accounting, internal controls, financial
systems, and processes and with annual audits from a public company
perspective.
- Experience in the retail industry, while not required, is
preferred
Educational Credentials:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree, with business or accounting
background
- Completed Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA)
designation is preferred
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to Europe or US will be required
