Senior Director, Store Planning

Key Responsibilities

Develop, execute and communicate strategic store financial plans that support the company's objectives.

  • Integrate a store planning process within the merchandise planning timeline to improve the accuracy of the financial plans and OTB forecasts
  • Develop and share store/customer knowledge based on field communication, store visits and historical store performance.
  • Present and implement strategic store initiatives by location based on performance; including seasonality, holiday impact and test results
  • Use store profiles at the department level to make recommendations for future buys. 
  • Review and advise depth/breadth guidelines to support the proper distribution of product to maximize sales and gross margin and optimize inventory

 

Develop, execute and communicate new store plans that support financial targets and help to achieve operation deadlines.

  • Present the new store opening proforma, floorplans and attributes to the cross functional team
  • Create sales and inventory targets based on the store profile and annual proforma
  • Partner with the cross functional team to build store opening assortment plans with allocation and product flow strategies
  • Present learnings on new store performance to leadership team.  Quantify short and long term opportunity

 

Support strategic initiatives and participate in all planning activities that support the annual retail goals

 

  • Collaborate with cross functional team to ensure consistency of focus for the team
  • Lead the store planning team to implement new tools and processes to support the store teams
  • Negotiate with and influence members of the cross functional team
  • Develop, train and manage a direct report with a focus on succession planning

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Computer proficient; ability to learn technical applications
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Develop and maintain effective cross functional relationships
  • Present strategies after building a solid business case
  • Set priorities, foster teamwork and set goals with cross functional partners
