Senior Assistant Store Manager
Overview
The Donna Karan Company LLC, one of the world's leading fashion design houses, seeks a Senior Assistant Store Manager to join the team!
Responsibilities
Sales Generation:
- Ensure the team meets store sales goals
- Assist in setting Sales/Manager on Duty goals ensuring they reflect store business budget
- Assist in the tracking, monitoring, and communication of business results to develop business strategies
- Continue to develop personal sales techniques and assist in the development of associates’ sales techniques to maximize sales
- Analyze reports given by the Company to drive the business such as sell-thru reports, key item reports, CRM reporting and secret shops
- Ensure all sales related policies and procedures are maintained
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise, and develop product knowledge among selling staff
- Maintain a keen interest in the fashion industry and market trends
- Collaborate with Supervisor and Marketing to identify marketing opportunities to support sales
- Work with supervisor in developing events/incentives that will continue to grow customer base, with particular emphasis on building local market
Customer Service:
- Ensure all associates provide the highest level of customer service, utilizing the “7 Steps of Selling”; lead by example
- Resolve all client problems and complaints quickly and effectively
- Assist sales associates with various customer service issues (i.e. dissatisfied customers, returns, defective merchandise)
- Assist in the implementation and tracking of the Selling with Style training program.
Operation
- Ensure facility maintenance, presentation and organization
- Control store expenses and maintain budgets, continually striving to reduce costs
- Schedule associates to maintain adequate floor coverage while maintaining payroll budgets
- Ensure deliveries are properly processed in a timely manner
- Monitor the movement of all inventory and ensure that staff adheres to all Shipping/Receiving/Transfer policies and procedures
- Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements
- Provide staff training in all areas of appropriate register usage and maintenance
- Understand and properly execute all management register functions
- Participate in annual inventories
- Understand and execute cash control procedures including: bank deposits, safe funds, petty cash
- Understand and properly execute all management register functions including promotional code use
- Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication and LP audits
- Build and maintain good communication with members of corporate office, regional office, mall office and other stores
Merchandising/Visual:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of all merchandising/ visual directives
- Ensure the selling floor is neat, clean, organized and reflects the current visual directives at all times
- Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner
- Communicate inventory needs to support the business goal
Human Resources:
- Assist in the recruitment, training and development of staff
- Assist in ensuring the integrity of payroll and the scheduling process
- Continually evaluate the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to ensure results
- Resolve all human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary
- Support and provide follow-up for all training programs, seminars etc.
- Manage onboarding process of new employees utilizing iCiMs and Tracker I9
- Ensure image and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image and adhered to at all times
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years retail experience with 2-3 years specialty management
