SALES MANAGER - Handbags

 

Our client, a mass market company, does both private labeling and licensing for the top retailers throughout the United States. They are looking for a Sales Manager to join their fast paced environment with innovative thinkers and creative designers.

Salary/Hourly Rate: 
$115-120K


Position Overview: The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with experience in sales and product management in handbags and fashion accessories. The individual will be responsible for managing accounts through a combination of showroom sales, phone and email outreach, sales analysis, product knowledge and communication. 

 


Responsibilities of the Sales Manager: 

 

  • Meet and build relationships with Senior Executives of major retailers
  • Follow-up on prospect meetings; successfully negotiate and acquire new Clients as well as expand relationships with existing clients
  • Receive and study CR’s merchandising plan and generate a corresponding Sales plan to drive revenue growth, commensurate with strategies and tactics called for in the merchandising plan
  • Effectively take advantage of sales opportunities through development and management of an effective Sales organization and continuous partnership with other groups within CR to engage customers to buy additional products or upgrade from existing products to incremental offerings
  • Ensure that aggressive Sales goals are set and achieved to support CR’s growth objectives
  • Build and grow a strong Sales Team by identifying leaders and creating high levels of engagement and developing best practices
  • Ensure that transaction costs related to business generation are within budget parameters and competitive for the activities sought in achieving aggressive Sales goals
  • Oversee and ensure the success of Sales derived from established partnerships 
  • Help to develop Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy and direct related sales tactics and practices
  • Report results in a timely manner, assess output of various sales channels and propose and implement mid-course corrections and improvements to ensure ongoing success of connection activity

 


Qualifications for the Sales Manager: 

 

  • 7-10 years of successful sales and sales management experience in sales, sourcing and production
  • Experience working with handbags, jewelry and/or accessories in a wholesale environment
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing markets
  • Quantifiable accomplishments in development and attainment of aggressive Sales goals
  • Thorough knowledge and background in Retail Sales Channels such as Department Store Chains and Mass Merchandisers
  • Demonstrated success in translating merchandising plans into effective Sales strategies in the jewelry or consumer product industry
  • Entrepreneurial drive, track record of initiative, personal responsibility and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual financial goals in a high growth organization
  • Ability to manage sales and sales forecast with precision
  • Competency in reading and interpreting competitive, industry data to ensure informed and accurate decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly make a sales plan operational for all products
  • Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytic and real time judgment
  • Maturity, poise, grace under pressure
  • High energy, positive attitude, and team oriented in all interactions
  • Excellent presentation, writing and negotiation skills
