Major Responsibilities

The Retoucher is responsible for the retouching of print and digital advertising for the Imaging department at Lord and Taylor. They will also be responsible for inspecting photography for quality issues, matching color to swatches and merchandise, and ensuring the successful reproduction of our marketing collateral. They will also be responsible for converting files to a printer ready format and uploading those files to the printer within specified timelines.

Role responsibilities include:

1.     Retouch and color correct high resolution images in Photoshop. Construct tight paths and silos for fashion, beauty and accessories images. Follow QC markup

2.     Relink images in Indesign, assemble pages for output. Rip and print files for color review, meet expected deadlines. Prepare files for presentation

3.     Collaborate with art directors on look and feel of images

4.     Communicate regularly with various stakeholders within the creative team ensure an efficient production and delivery cycle

5.     prepare and upload files to printer

Qualifications Personal Characteristics   The successful candidate must be able to work in a professional, fast-paced environment and be willing to deal with shifting priorities and be an expert Photoshop and strong Indesign skills required.   Professional Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in photo retouching
• Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5, expert knowledge of Photoshop, Bridge, and InDesign for Mac
• Capture One software experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills are required, written and verbal
• Retail or fashion experience

Educational Credentials Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in Photography or Media Studies)
