RETAIL MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR - Full Time Seasonal (August 7th-end of February)

POSITION SUMMARY:

An exciting opportunity for a talented Retail Merchandise Coordinator to join our team.  Merchandise Coordinator will handle multiple coat lines in several retail locations in Los Angeles and Orange County.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To monitor and attend all major department stores in area/region and report to Corporate Office the current condition of the store including but not limited to: business and level of sales, visual merchandise displays, stock levels, store traffic/displays, happenings with associates and upcoming store events.

• While in stores: Set fixtures to represent the coat lines standard presentation, organize stock room as needed, discuss with managers ways to improve business, ensure that markdowns are completed, pulled together and signed, make certain that the floor is fully stocked and move pieces from stock room onto selling floor. 

• Analyze weekly sales reports especially, Week to Date (WTD) and On Hand Stock levels from this year (TY) to last year (LY) for Account Executives.

• Prepare store reports, based on weekly store visits.  Reports consist of “before” and “after” pictures, descriptions of visual presentations, stock reports, sales analysis, customer call-outs and any other comments that may be important for the sales team.

• Partner with Visual Merchandising on mannequin presentations.

• Help prepare floor and participate in all store events to help sell product and more importantly to show our support for all respective stores.

• Conduct product knowledge seminars for sales associates as needed.

• Help announce, create and motivate selling contests to promote business.

• Maintain communication between store management, associates, buyers/planners and account executives.

• Assist team with any other projects on an as needed basis.

• Occasional daily trip outside of working region.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• BS College Degree (preferably Fashion Merchandising).

• 2 years of sales assistant or selling experience.

• General understanding of the department store business and how to analyze the business with “retail math” (i.e., sell through, on-hands, inventory, and margin).

• Excellent customer service, strong verbal and written communication, highly organized, to successfully work in a team environment, self motivated and strong time management skills.

• Excellent computer skills and must have access to digital camera and own transportation.
