Alexis is looking for a Purchasing Assistant: 

Job duties include:

-Maintain inventory of sample/tailoring yardage by season and assist with re-orders as inventory needs to be fulfilled

-Setting up purchase orders for fabric and trim

-Assist in shipping of packages for fabric approvals and/or sourcing

-Assisting in the timely and effective strategic sourcing fabric/ trim

-Ensure that orders are accurately submitted to the mills, and updates are communicated

-Closely tracking all fabric purchasing, receipts and monitoring fabric inventory and understanding overages and shortages

-Correspond daily with vendors to negotiate pricing, payment terms and x-mill dates to meet production delivery dates

-Update fabric requirement chart daily with delivery, shipping and receiving details for production managers

-Advise color/quality comments to mills for bulk fabric submits

-Assist in coordinating shipping and distribution of all fabric and trim orders to and from mills/factories

-Update production team with raw material lead time and buying details information for seasonal buys

-Supporting purchasing manager with any and all administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • 3 years industry experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Photoshop
  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented with a keen eye for aesthetic details
  • Proactive and Demonstrates a high level of initiative and strong follow through
  • Strong analytical skills as well as creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to stay on task in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
