PRODUCTION COORDINATOR - Men's Apparel

Bernette Textile, a leading men's apparel company seeks a highly motivated, engaged, bright, and detail oriented Production Coordinator. We are a 70 year old company with a young, dynamic environment and an excellent track record of delivering successful businesses.

The Production Coordinator will coordinate in-line bulk production and pre-production for apparel department. Work closely with VP of Sourcing & Production Manager to ensure on time delivery and invoicing of all products. Maintain and update various reports essential to the production process. Daily communication with domestic and overseas vendors to monitor WIP, X-dates and ETA of PO’s to ensure on time delivery for bulk production.

Essential functions but limited to:

  • Liaison between Sales, Sourcing, Logistics & Finance departments.
  • Communicate with buyers to receive order information when needed.
  • Create style numbers and descriptions and enter into AMT system.
  • Order price tickets in a timely manner and send to factories.
  • Issue Cost Sheets to Import Department.
  • Review Inspection Reports to verify that ticketing and packaging is done according to customers Compliance Guidelines.
  • Submit and follow up on customer ad sample requirements.
  • Review test reports to ensure proper care instructions are used on garments and provide this information to factories.
  • Create and send new or revised PO’s to agents & factories.
  • Review & respond to daily communications from all overseas agents.
  • Set up and follow up weekly WIP reports.
  • Work with and support Design with trims approvals, samples requests.
  • Sent tech packs and swatches to agents and follow up with agents for pricing information.
  • Provide assistance to VP of Sourcing and Production Manager as needed.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

Experience:

  • 5 yrs. experience  in the apparel industry
  • Experience working with agents and factories.
  • Experience with private label approval process. Knowledge of Sears/K-Mart IMA internal system.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (i.e. Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook) is required.
  • Experience working with AMT is a plus

Skills:

  • Heavy data input (creating styles and POs in the system)
  • Experience in IMA (Sears/Kmart internal system)
    • Must be organized and have the ability and drive to multi-task in a fast paced, demanding environment.
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize is a must
    • Proficiency with basic computer applications (i.e. Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook) is required
    • Understanding of the production process and lead-times
    • Must be organized and have the ability and drive to multi-task in a fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills is a must

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience.
