PRODUCTION COORDINATOR - Knitwear

General Overview: Coordinate events / meetings within the knitwear production department and assist the Production Manager/Director with their daily activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Manager/Director on daily projects related to production matters
  • Communicate daily with vendors to resolve production issues and check on progress
  • Serve as a liaison between Design and vendors by tracking and communicating on bulk fabric, trim approvals, color, and combos
  • Work with the BMS team to set up new factories
  • Enter factory allocations in system
  • Map styles to correct Production Managers in system
  • Request and send sample yardage/trim from fabric department and trim department to factories for making fit samples
  • Prepare and send design recaps to factories
  • Gather and send fabric face cards to factories and technical design teams
  • Request advance yardage from bulk for pre-production fit samples and follow up with Fabric department
  • Request color standards from color department and send to factories for lab dips on factory supplied bulk cutting materials
  • Update status of lab dips, combo and mockups in tracking report (manually)
  • Prepare and send packages to vendors for development, mockups, etc.
  • Track and follow up on bulk trim shipments
  • Print and file tech packs
  • Request and check mini markers and send to Marker Department, and track receipt and approval of fabric control form
  • Enter yields in BMS when approved by Marker Maker
  • Process L/C requests
  • Issue and revise cut orders/final cuts/purchase orders and send to vendors

Success Measures: (measurable goals and objectives) 

  • Work with vendors on size breaks and cut ticket issues
  • Update purchase orders for short shipments and inform Merchandising
  • Review and process shipping documents from factories, monitor shipping quantity discrepancies, create and send Shipping Authorizations to factories for US shipments and to Import Department for international shipments
  • Work with Import Department to expedite timely bulk shipments from vendors
  • Update and send out vendor requirements (i.e. manuals) to new agents and/or factories, as needed
  • Work with vendors to maintain their BMS responsibilities
  • Request lab test and garment test reports from factories

Required Experience and Qualifications: (degrees, specific functional skills, professional experience, knowledge, proven accomplishments etc.)

  • 2-3 years’ experience
  • Production Internship experience or 2 years of production experience
  • Fashion related degree or relevant work experience
