PRODUCTION ASSISTANT - Women's & Children's Apparel

 

Our client is a New York based apparel company specializing in Women’s & Children’s Apparel, and they are currently seeking a Production Assistant to help with their team. 

Salary: $40k

 

Position Overview: Seeking a Production Assistant with apparel experience whose primary responsibility with be managing the pre-production approval process for on-time delivery. This person will also be responsible for assisting the production coordinator with daily tasks as necessary.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • The Production Assistant manages email correspondence and the distribution of received submits to related departments, assuring the prompt return for comments
  • Monitors time and action to be sure all critical deadlines are maintained on both garment and packaging approvals
  • Tracks and follows up with suppliers for:
    • Fabric submits: counters for quality, lab dips, shade bands, hand looms, strike-offs, and bulk fabric
    • Submits for labels, trims, packaging, buttons, hang tags, etc.
    • Fabric and garment and test results
    • Submits for Fit, PP (pre-production), and TOP (top of production) samples
    • Submits for UPC and carton stickers, passes to production team for their co-share with the sales department for scan approval, and checks to PO for accuracy
    • Collaborate with sales on getting price tickets to vendors as necessary in a timely manner

 

  • Manages the procedure for sample preparation for retail buyers (such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, etc.)
  • Manages the library of submitted specimens, filed by season and vendor
  • Style setup in PLM
  • Enters and allocates sales orders

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Strong understanding of the apparel industry
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office products particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong communication and ability to build relationships internally/externally
  • Very detail-oriented 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be a team player and have high energy

 

Education Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
