Product Development Manager - Women's Apparel

Doen is seeking a highly organized and motivated Product Development Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in our North Hollywood HQ. The Ideal candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, and will serve a critical role in coordinating style development from concept through Photo Samples.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendar and alert team of calendar deadlines
  • Manage fitting schedule priorities in order to execute determined timeline of development
  • Maintain all charts/reports related to the product development process
  • Track fabric, knit downs, lab dips, handloom, strike off, wash, trim requests, ect.
  • Proactively source new material qualities based on design direction
  • Review all development swatches with design, send comments to vendors on swatches, follow up with vendor on all development of fabrics & trim
  • Partner weekly with design on merchandising, tweaking development timelines and adjusting the merchandising plan based on development reality
  • Frequent communication with vendors to ensure timeline is maintained for merchandising plan
  • Work with content director to determine deadlines for photoshoot samples, communicate these deadlines to vendor and work closely with design to make sure design changes don’t impact timeliness of samples. Troubleshoot issues that would prevent samples from arriving on schedule for photoshoots.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with cross functional team members

Competencies:

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • College degree in relevant major preferred but not limited
  • Product Development Experience (3-5 years) preferred
  • Proficient in yarn, fabric, and finishing
  • Proficient in printing techniques/print artwork development
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable in a rapidly growing company
