PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Marc Fisher Footwear is seeking a Product Development Manager to join our team at our corporate headquarters based in Greenwich, CT. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as communication lead between product and overseas factories and office
  • Work with design to execute product specifications and manage all proto and salesmen sample specifications
  • Supervise and direct Product Development Coordinator position
  • Review and provide lot sample comments to factories
  • Responsible for approving all confirmation samples and master swatches, and maintaining sample library and master binders
  • Meet with suppliers for new material selections including leather, fabric and synthetics
  • Work with China office to source materials seasonally including core articles, novelty and prints
  • Create and maintain materials library – collect pricing, minimums and article breakdown information
  • Attend costing meetings and work with design on any issues
  • Lead seasonal color development process from initial development with overseas office/suppliers through final approval  on strike-offs and prints
  • Partner with internal teams – sales, marketing, production to ensure all needs are met and communicate product updates
  • Attend meetings with sales during market and handle style/sku requests
  • Partner with Web business to spec styles
  • Conduct trend and competitive research
  • Handle calendar maintenance and ensure seasonal calendar deadlines are met  
  • Resolve development and production issues
  • Travel to suppliers, factories, offices as needed

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of product development in footwear
  • Understanding of the marketplace and competition
  • Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in fast paced environment under pressure
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Knowledge of leathers, fabrics and synthetics
