PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT - Ecommerce Footwear Company

Our client is a fast growing ecommerce footwear company. Their mission is to develop shoes that are fashionable, high-quality, hand-crafted, comfortable, and customizable.

Salary/Rate: $15/hr

Position Overview: The Product Development Assistant will support the Product Development Manager. Looking for a team player with strong communication and organizational skills. This Product Development Assistant will have a sense of urgency and be happy to jump in and help wherever is needed.

Responsibilities:

• Product Development Assistant will communicate daily with domestic and overseas suppliers and team members as the main development point person for Design Development
• Keep calendar up to date
• Send and receive packages via appropriate courier services and maintain clear tracking records
• Work to ensure on-time delivery of fabrics, trims, samples, and materials
• Maintain and organize all materials, hardware, originals and development samples
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing submits/samples are properly tagged, recorded and stored
• Attend design reviews, fittings and milestone meetings to record corrections, take notes, create drawings and instructions to reflect changes, direction and instruct others on next steps 
• Assist in the sourcing of materials, hardware and components
• Assist during design meetings by taking clear pictures and notes
• Assist with creating and maintaining specs and Tech Packs in Excel and Illustrator
• Be responsive to Product team needs

Qualifications:

• Product Development Assist must have experience communicating with global factories, suppliers and tanneries
• Detail oriented with strong follow through skills
• Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects
• Able to check your own work before sharing with others
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
• Proactive problem solving skills
• Flexible mindset to adapt to new data and direction
• Solid proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and MS Excel
• Understanding of basic footwear construction and materials
• Good hand sketching skills
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree, fashion, art or design related preferred
