Product Copy Analyst

Job Description

The Item Set Up team works across a number of websites within the Hudson’s Bay Company portfolio, including Saks of Fifth Avenue, OFF5TH, Lord and Taylor, Gilt and Hudson’s Bay. The team is responsible for the fast and efficient publication of products for sale on site, including the creation of content that is customer-friendly and representative of the high quality of designer brands available on these sites.

 

 

The Product Copy Analyst is responsible for ensuring that HBC’s content partners are producing best-in-class content to sell products online. Working as part of a team, this role will analyze and quality assure all copy produced, and produce all relevant reports relating to this function. The Analyst is also responsible for supporting the Account Manager, ensuring the 3rd party output meets all predefined standards, service level agreements and efficiencies. 

 

 

Primary responsibilities

 

 

  •        Act as the primary support system for the Account Manager which includes tracking daily volume and priority assignments, analyzing and suggesting improvements to completed copy, monitoring expected completion timing and monitoring of throughput and adherence to SLAs.
  •        Prepare, analyze and maintain a vendor scorecard
  •        Prepare, analyze and monitor all key statistics
  •       Pull 3rd party allocation and completion reports

 

 

Secondary responsibilities

 

 

  •        Thoroughly understand the copy landscape, primarily focused on efficiency review to identify process recommendations.
  •        Improved time to site and decreased NOS
  •        Implement tracking tools to help evaluate quality metrics and improve work flow
  •        Reduce turnaround time, reduce defect rate and improve team quality metrics

 

Qualifications

Essential requirements:

 

 

  •        Bachelor’s degree – preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media or similar (the role is suited to a candidate with strong research, editing and writing skills).
  •        Understanding of retail e-commerce landscape, including “best practice” features and functionality
  •        Knowledge of, and a keen interest in, the fashion industry, and its place in the changing retail environment
  •        An awareness of online operations and process efficiency
  •        Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  •        Strong copywriting skills with razor-sharp attention to detail
  •        Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  •       Experience writing content (editorial or commercial), this may be for print publications, online platforms etc.
  •        Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines

 

 

Not required but beneficial:

 

Experience working with team in remote locations, and experience managing projects
