Job Description

The Drop Ship Onboarding associate will manage all aspects of the vendor onboarding process including vendor eligibility, vendor roll-out schedules, pipeline and workflow process management, communication of policies and procedures, and required testing. As the operational liaison between IT, vendors, and service providers, this person is responsible for facilitating all steps of the onboarding process including accuracy of inventory, EDI, and invoicing feeds, advancing item setup and creation, and educating partners on HBC SLAs requirements.

• Achieve timeline targets and optimized throughput of new vendors across all banners.

• Project manages the path to “go live” across multiple functions through technology, training on HBC SLAs and proactively escalating any critical timeline delays.

• Review all packing slips, tax information, and vendor invoicing for approval by Onboarding Manager.

• Lead smoke and end to end testing with each vendor and resolution any early compliance issues before “go live” date.

• Work closely with Merchandise Operations and Merchants to advance item creation and setup timeframes

• Confirm all attributing and business rules are accurate for each vendor/item set up based on requirements from the business

• Monitor vendor performance in partnership with Drop Ship Associate through the vendor stabilization phase sharing operational insights and updates to processes.

• Maintain all technical updates to existing accounts.

• Suggest system and IT enhancements supported by analytics and metrics to improve throughput timelines

• Achieve vendor onboarding timeline targets and improved speed to site for new vendor implementation

• Support SLA targets by partnering with Drop Ship Associates

• Recommend IT, system, and process improvements


• Bachelor’s degree

• Understanding of retail landscape, and “best practice” systems and functionality.

• Strong communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Drop Ship or e-Commerce operations department

• Minimum of 4 years in retail or B2C role

• Minimum of 4 years in operations or project management

• Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• Understanding of business and ability to foresee and react to the impact of strategies prior to implementation

• Demonstrated ability to successfully optimized processes; Excels in executing company goals and developing plans of action.

• Proven ability to provide sound business judgment and influence others to drive ideas and plans forward

• Ability to work effectively with and present to individuals at all levels

• Demonstrated success implementing and evolving operational processes within a highly dynamic and large scale e-commerce business backed by metrics and analytics

• Demonstrated success recommending strategies backed by metrics and analytics
