General Summary 

Urban Outfitters is actively seeking a talented and versatile network security professional with experience and expertise designing, implementing and supporting security  solutions.  As an IT Security Engineer on IT Security team, the qualified individual will perform technical tasks and analysis to ensure Urban’s security posture is optimal at all times.


Essential Job Accountabilities
 

·         Collaborate on designs, and implement key company security measures for retail/corporate locations and web hosting environments

·         Work with peer engineers and department Managers to develop PCI Compliance project plans, document remediation and compliance efforts and execute plans in a timely manner

o   Assist in IT initiatives to design and audit enterprise systems and applications to ensure they meet corporate security policies and best practices

·         Demonstrated a learning ability for designing, deploying and operating IT security solutions.

o   Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems deployment and operation, including experiencing tuning to minimize false positives, integration with SIEM technologies and correlating with Cyber Threat Intelligence.

o   Firewall design, integration and deployment, with experience analyzing and delivering configurations to address a broad range of threats, as well as tailoring for targeted threats.

o   Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware solution deployment and operation, with experience demonstrated for both host based detection and network based detection tools.

·         Understanding of Unix/Linux, with background in scripting to solve problems like configuration management, data analysis and system security.

·         Strong understanding of networking, with experience configuring and troubleshooting routing, DNS and other core network functions.

·         Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing on key technologies like servers, ecommerce and mobile applications, and enterprise network environments.

·         Identify, develop, implement, and maintain high level industry standard security practices

·         Participate with IT management to strategize, manage, integrate and coordinate the enterprise Security Roadmap direction

o   Evaluate current and foreseeable future Network and Security requirements to determine appropriate solutions

o   Facilitate the selection and implementation of security, network, communication and systems infrastructure to match the growth needs of the company

·         Provide technical guidance and support to IT operations staff to ensure corporate standards, processes, compliance and service levels are met

 

 

 

Education and Work Experience

·         Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and /or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent experience.

·         Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience maintaining network security in large, multi-site business environments.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

·         Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated experience working in a collaborative environment.

·         Working knowledge of PCI & PADSS rules, regulations and practices

·         Expert knowledge of network security systems and designs including stateful firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, auditing and alerting systems and authentication systems.

·         Background in securing environments with multiple vendor or Internet connections, wireless networks and WAN networks including MPLS, Point to Point and VPN connectivity.

·         Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner.

 

·         Ability to work in a team atmosphere.

·         Practical knowledge of supporting remote sites and equipment and working with less technical personnel in the support of those sites.

·         Excellent organizational skills.
