Music Marketing Coordinator

Music Marketing Manager

 

Overview

The Music Marketing Coordinator is a critical role in developing and executing the creative objectives of UO by supporting and enhancing brand initiatives through music.   This role requires a deep understanding of the UO brand and customer mindset in addition to understanding the landscape of the music marketplace.  They will be a collaborative partner to the internal music team as well as a touch-point to external teams and partners.

 

Responsibilities

 

Music Licensing

  • Obtain music licensing for use in videos produced by UO, brand campaigns, social media videos, and for the UO app music player

 

Digital Strategy

  • Daily updates to the UO Spotify profile playlists + monthly themed playlists
  • Daily updates to the UO Apple Music profile playlists + monthly themed playlists
  • Manage weekly Music Monday + Weekend Warmup playlists + find new “hosts” to curate playlists for the UO profile

 

In-Store Music Support

  • Collaborate with Music Marketing Manager to manage in-store music - weekly updates
  • Submit updates to Play Network using excel format

 

Talent booking + marketing

  • Collaborate with Music Marketing Manager to create talent lists for upcoming campaigns and events
  • Create and manage contracts once talent is locked in
  • Submit and coordinate check requests for payments and billing
  • Work cross-functionally to manage asset approvals with talent management to hit deadlines
  • Communicate status updates internally to align all departments

 

Marketing + Communication 

  • Compile and publish agendas for internal and external meetings
  • Manage a status update sheet that encompasses all our current projects
  • Create one sheets and marketing pitchdecks for individual projects with all details and imagery

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in music, creative marketing or related role. 
  • Demonstrate a passion for and understanding of the Urban Outfitters brand, customer, and product.
  • Experience building awareness and discovery through unconventional marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional project management, process management and organization skills. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate efforts across a large organization (both internally and externally), including success managing teams, both directly and virtually.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills: must be able to present and inspire. 
  • Ability to interact effectively in a complex organization. Must be able to establish excellent working relationships and communication with individuals and teams at various levels and from various fields of expertise.
  • Creative decision maker: Able to problem-solve and create compelling short and long-term solutions.
  • Builds Relationships/Influences: Ability to persuade and negotiate among multiple divisions. Experience in successfully collaborating with many different personality types while maintaining point of view and marketing objectives.

 

Education

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Music Marketing, Business, or a related field.
