MERCHANDISING MANAGER

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandising Manager to join our LeSportsac division. This position is responsible for overseeing market research and analysis to determine current and future fashion trends, coordinating with all functional areas and participates in design concept meeting and line reviews, creating and implementing merchandising processes, and transforming creative vision into a timely product reality aligned with brand strategy and meeting financial goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS include the following:

 

  • Analyze business trends and identify business opportunities and risks through analyzing sales performance and assess competitors, to create a seasonal brief.
  • Analyze global sales, product performance, markets and provide feedback and make merchandise recommendations.
  • Partners with Creative team on executing assortment, fabric commits, timely assortment/color sheets.
  • Uphold brand filters and design integrity of the product.
  • Prepare and deliver internal market presentations, and product presentations supporting the seasonal creative and business goals.
  • Pre-cost and target costs of the product through the production/sourcing pipeline.
  • Edit collection and manage price with Design, based on creative vision and business goals.
  • Create seasonal development calendar and drive process to stay on calendar; manage design requests.
  • Manage the overall product development process to meet deadlines and the achieve business goals.
  • Partners with sourcing teams to execute seasonal assortments from concept to creation.
  • Create a seasonal line list with correct style numbers/coding.
  • Communicates to all teams, cross-functionally, any sample delivery issues, impacting the seasonal photo shoots, or presentations.
  • This also could evolve into a support for web product issues, sequencing, deliveries and promotions, cross-selling to maximize sales.
  • Partners with Planning and Marketing to execute promotional and investment strategies to manage sales and inventory.
  • Prepares business analysis to management, weekly, monthly, seasonally.
  • Other projects as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in merchandising or related field
  • 8+ years’ experience in a merchandiser role
  • Experience with creating seasonal development calendars
  • Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Asian market is a plus
  • Strong fashion sense coupled with business mindset
