Merchandising Intern

Overview:

The Donna Karan Company, LLC., one of the world’s leading fashion houses, is currently seeking students to join the Fall 2017 Internship Program in our New York offices

Responsibilities:

The Intern will learn the product development cycle from sketch to pre-production.

• Track a style from proto to line stage in order to gain a full understanding of the development process and how the merchandising team interacts with all other departments
• Research current trends and preparing competitive analysis and inspiration presentations
• Checking-in samples, creating fabric receiving records, updating the lab dip book, and organizing tech packs and cut tickets
• Assisting the photographer to shoot the line, maintaining the show room, and packing the Carnet
• Preparing price comparative reports to assist Merchandisers and President in costing the current season
• Archiving old materials, stocking supplies, and preparing sample sale boxes
