MERCHANDISING COODINATOR I

 

Position Summary   

The role of the Merchandising Coordinator I is to:

Be a highly motivated individual to develop, execute and train creative merchandising techniques. Train and store managers and associates to insure the integrity of our visual standards are maintained, offering an appealing and well organized product presentation to our store guests.  Implements directives from Corporate BSS as needed for select product displays.  Assist the Merchandise Manager, implementing various merchandising and presentation variables for stores

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Execute merchandise strategies at the store level.
  • Train store personnel on how merchandising directives and standards are completed efficiently and completely via on-site visits, photos from store staff, and constant contact with store management.
  • Set and explain visual standards and techniques (utilizing directives, photographs and other media) within stores, establishing consistency within all stores. 
  • Responds to urgencies regarding merchandising for stores and assesses, then implements resolutions.
  • Continually create fresh and innovative new methods to merchandise and display product in all store departments.
  •  Conducts store visual strategy walk-through with managers and store department staff to discuss changes to be made (for product, signage, special displays, etc.) and provides direction for embellishment.
  • Work closely with BSS Merchandise Coordinators and Creative Merchandising Director to execute project direction.
  • Set prototypes and best practices to create training materials.
Requirements/Qualifications:

Position Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Fashion Merchandising Degree or Equivalent
  • 1 Year in Merchandising and/or Visual Merchandising or comparable experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Fashion Merchandising Degree or Equivalent
  • 2 Years Retail in Merchandising and/or Visual Merchandising or comparable experience

Competencies:

  • Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Rendering/sketching ability is a plus
