Merchandise Analyst

About the Position:

The Merchandise Analyst Inventory Management team thru allocation of product to stores.  This individual is responsible for the ownership of all investments across sizes, and ensures that inventory allocation to stores supports sales demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the flawless execution of Merchandising strategies through allocation of product
  • Partner with cross-functional team on the management of basic inventory, providing size balancing recommendations and service level analysis
  • Develop department level allocation strategies
  • Develop in-season risk mitigation allocation strategies
  • Partner with Merchandising and Production to monitor progress of product receipts "end to end" from product booking to in-store
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize size buys and packing of merchandise
  • Provide recommendations on pre-season CC investments to ensure size curves are represented across the chain
  • Ability to proactively identify business opportunities and communicate appropriately
  • Contributes to the financial success of one or more departments by sales, GMROI and inventory turn goals by appropriate allocation of inventory
  • Ability to measure results and translate findings to influence future business decisions
  Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
    • Action oriented and demonstrates a sense of urgency
    • Think objectively and draw conclusions from quantitative and qualitative data
    • Evaluate business trends and draw actionable conclusions to maximize opportunity
    • Use rigorous logic and thoughtful thinking  to effectively identify, address and resolve challenges
    • Set priorities and clear objectives to ensure that goals and objectives are meet and/or exceeded
    • Anticipate risks and develop plans and processes to reduce exposure
    • Build effective relationships with a broad range of constituents
    • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
    • Demonstrate strong communication skills
    • Proficient in retail math
    • Proficient in Microsoft excel
