Marketing Planning Manager

Position Summary:

The role of the Marketing Planning Manager is to guide the Marketing Planning team in the preparation and execution of Marketing for the assigned area of responsibility.  Manage support and communication between the Marketing Creative, Private Brand, Visual and Merchandising teams.  Ensure strategic merchandise initiatives are incorporated into the advanced planning of Marketing.  Lead the Marketing Planners in the development and execution of multi-channel marketing initiatives and the storewide promotional calendar.  Manage the allocation/pagination process.  Analyze marketing at the business level to identify opportunities and risks.  Communicate findings and implement marketing tactics to optimize.  

 

·      Manage process and deadlines for Private Brand initiatives, event planning, previews, and post evaluations as well as provide general Marketing support for Merchant and Creative Marketing teams

·       Collaborate with executive management to develop and standardize marketing planner roles

·       Ensure key merchandise initiatives are incorporated into advanced planning of marketing including allocations/paginations, creative concepts, and other marketing materials.

·       Manage vendor marketing, including interactive, email, and direct mail.  Mange vendor program overall productivity and budget.

·       Support growth and education of marketing planners to ensure, strong knowledge of multiple marketing channels.

·       Manage merchandising marketing requests. Focus marketing enhancements on key business initiatives and ideas.

 

·       Create executive summary of marketing analytical findings at the business level

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Education & Experience: (BA or BS (preferred)

  • 7+ years of retail experience preferred in Merchandising, Planning, or Marketing

 

Preferred Education & Experience:BA or BS , MBA a Plus

  • 7+ years of retail experience preferred in Merchandising, Planning, or Marketing
  • Previous management experience a plus

 

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Capability to motivate a team
  • Ability to get things done; strong sense of initiative and self-motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of MS office; EDW and MKW knowledge a plus

 

Physical: Ability to operate a PC, ability to travel to stores/markets/offsite facilities

 

Reports Directly to: Marketing Manager

Supervises: Marketing Planners
