Summary: 

This position will support the development of the marketing calendar and sales plans, conduct analysis to measure marketing tactics, review competitive activity, and create and analyze tests to improve effectiveness. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • Support development of daily forecasts (i.e. event sales, holiday shifts, weather impacts) and relevant summaries.
  • Collect data and conduct analysis to make recommendations on changes to promotional events, new sales driving initiatives, etc.
  • Prepare meeting materials to support marketing team in presenting seasonal marketing plans, including sales plans, account histories & other supporting documents as needed.
  • Maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and presentations for departmental review. 
  • Create ad-hoc reports designed to interpret business results; draw conclusions based on analysis and interpretation of sales data.
  • Support evaluation of tests to improve marketing tactics and financial performance.
  • Collect and synthesize data from multiple sources to create “post-mortem” reports, identifying key learning’s from marketing events and tests; produce actionable conclusions based on the results of analyses to colleagues.
  • Perform competitive analyses; gather market/industry research as needed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications

 

 

 

  • 2-3 years’ experience in retail or consumer packaged goods and exposure to retail planning metrics (sales, margins, promotions, ROAS, etc.)
  • Prior experience in strategic planning, sales forecasting, management consulting, financial analysis or related role
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Powerpoint; advanced Excel skills
  •  Experience in data mining across multiple large data sets with solid understanding of relational database structures.  SQL and statistical experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to tailor presentation of analysis to various audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.

Educational Credentials

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience
