 The Sr Manager of Web Design is responsible for the editorial execution for both internal and external marketing collateral. He/ she executes the design vision of the Digital Design Director as well as oversees a team of digital designer(s) and orchestrates their work to fit the needs of the business. 

 

Primary Goals – Creative and Management Responsibilities

 

·        Assist in defining and communicating brand/visual style guidelines and standards across all channels

·        Provide art direction to internal and external teams with specific subject matter expertise in focus areas

·        Lead productive brainstorming sessions that result in concrete ideas for execution

·        Collaborate on strategic creative initiatives, targeting business objective(s) while ensuring compliance with brand standards and timeline requirements

·        Assist in reviews, approvals and communications to design and production teams regarding versions and extensions of strategic concepts to ensure projects are delivered with brand compliance

·        Work closely with UX Design, IT Development, Product and Project teams to ensure flawless integration with back-end technology and a great user experience

·        Consult with business partners and marketing/merchandise teams on creative options

·        Troubleshoot business partner relationship issues and resolve conflicts as required; gather facts, assess options and determine appropriate resolution to achieve high-level of business partner satisfaction

·        Utilize workflow process and technology to ensure quality delivery of work product on an ongoing basis

·        Prioritize and schedule project tasks to meet deadlines

·        Ensure all electronic files are built responsibly (smallest size, proper naming conventions, error free), and achieve error-free work

·        Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

·        Maintain high utilization rate

·        Participate in formal performance reviews, ensure professional development and adhere to yearly and quarterly personal/ team goals and objectives

·        Provide specific feedback to the editorial design teams in order to meet department’s change agenda

·        Actively participate and support department-wide change initiatives

·        Achieves project deadlines as evaluated on a quarterly and yearly basis

 

Qualifications

  • Masters + 2 years of experience or in the alternative, Bachelor’s + 5 years’ experience
  •   Strong communication and people skills – able to lead and manage both business partners and creative resources
  •     Strong project and time-management skills – able to balance and prioritize team workload and adjust to shifting business needs/priorities
  • Excellent design sense and ability to articulate design strategy to business partners and design team
  •    3+ years of web design experience in:

    -       Developing digital strategies, concepts, templates and brand guidelines

    -       Collaborating with design and editorial teams

    ·        2+ years experience:

                  -Communicating and building strong connections with executive leadership and business partners
