Manager, Site Merchandising

The Site Merchandising Manager is responsible for overseeing all online merchandising strategies and content setup processes for approximately 20% of the business leveraging web site analytics to improve the overall customer experience and conversion.    Strategies will be supported by analysis of metrics, AB testing and current market trends thereby delivering and executing actionable insights, analyses and recommendations for both short and long term strategies for Saks.com. They are also responsible for achieving topside sales plans, conversion goals, usability performance targets and corporate objectives. They will oversee a team focused on ensuring timely production of content with accountability for complete and accurate assortments.  They will also drive ongoing efficiency and quality improvements. Create and manage site content strategies cross functionally including: editorials/events content, features, special assortments, Edition Magazine content and all Holiday Gift Guides. Manage the overall content set up process. Ensure timely live date of content and related product assortments with accurate information. Oversee the creative brief process for site assets, including section pages, editorials/events and other relevant content by providing detailed communication for team to execute. Measure and monitor content effectiveness, and communicate how content strategy is contributing to business goals.  Interpret and react to metrics to help drive site content strategies.  Develop, interpret and react to AB testing strategies. Develop detailed strategy and analytics recaps on Editorial Events and Gift Guides to further improve future decision making Manage weekly sign-off on web site publication; ensure team has completed thorough quality assurance of designated content and assortment specific areas of responsibility.  Oversee the testing of all site content in coordination with weekly site refreshes, functionality and marketing initiatives.   Track & review team quality metrics and define ways to improve.  Work with Site Ops team to identify and reduce process or system inefficiencies. Manage, mentor and develop team for future growth within the department and organization Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree •Understanding of retail ecommerce landscape, including “best practice” features and functionality •Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills •Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills •Minimum of 3 years experience in e-Commerce •Minimum of 2 years in retail site merchandising •Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience managing a team •Familiarity with site analytics tools (e.g., Omniture or Coremetrics) and with content management tools  •Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite  •Action and detail oriented, organized with ability to manage  teams  to execute within deadlines  •Ability to manage multiple resources, priorities and a large volume of business •Ability to set clear team objectives and performance measures •Ability to select and develop a team of future leaders •Ability to perform well, problem solve and brainstorm  in a collaborative environment and inspire a strong sense of camaraderie, accountability, and high performance across teams •Demonstrate sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others and strong decision making skills •Ability to work effectively with and present to individuals at all levels •Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and willingness to take on responsibilities outside primary job description when necessary •Assertive, adaptable and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities •Self-motivated, resourceful with a creative mindset
