MANAGER, ITEM SETUP

 

Summary:

The Item Setup Manager is responsible for overseeing all item setup processes for approximately 20-40% of the business. The Item Setup Manager is responsible for process improvement and efficiency metrics development and implementation. This role is also responsible for achieving topside sales plans, conversion goals, usability performance targets and corporate objectives. The manager will oversee a team focused on ensuring timely publishing of items with accountability for complete and accurate product information.  The manager will also drive ongoing efficiency and quality improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the item set up process inclusive of web attribution and copy. Ensure timely live date of products and accurate information.  Responsible for delaying items that are not validated.  Track & review team quality metrics and define ways to improve.  Work with Merchandising Performance Optimization and Merchandising Operations team to identify and reduce process or system inefficiencies and reduce defect rate. Daily workflow maintenance management with the other item lifecycle teams. 
  • Daily sign-off on web site publication; ensure team has completed thorough quality assurance of designated merchandise areas of responsibility.  Oversee the testing of all site item publication in coordination with site refreshes, functionality and assist in the Merch Ops testing of site-wide marketing initiatives.  
  • Responsible for owning relationship with Buying/Product Coordinator team, editorial copy team and vendors for multiple categories of business
  • Manage, mentor and develop team for future growth within the department and organization
Qualifications

Skills:

  • Understanding of retail ecommerce landscape, including “best practice” features and functionality
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in e-Commerce
  • Minimum of 2 years in retail site merchandising
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience managing a team
  • Familiarity with site analytics tools (e.g., Omniture or Coremetrics) and with content management tools 
  • Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Action and detail oriented, organized with ability to manage  teams  to execute within deadlines 
  • Ability to manage multiple resources, priorities and a large volume of business
  • Ability to set clear team objectives and performance measures
  • Ability to select and develop a team of future leaders
  • Ability to perform well, problem solve and brainstorm  in a collaborative environment and inspire a strong sense of camaraderie, accountability, and high performance across teams
