Job Description

Reporting Relationship: The Manager, Events Marketing is a leadership role reporting directly to the Director of Event Marketing

Major Responsibilities

The Manager of Event Marketing is responsible for supporting the Director of Event Marketing with the local marketing strategy for stores, key national initiatives, and Canada events, management of the event concepting / planning process, and local marketing efforts for all Hudson’s Bay stores.

Role responsibilities include: 

  1. Develop event marketing programs for corporate initiatives (ie. Focus & Theme Weeks, Key to the Cure, Holiday), key merchant programs/merchandise exclusives and marquee events, corporate partnership activations new store openings and renovations to build HB’s image and drive sales (ROI)
  2. Support store marketing event planning and logistics for vendor events including development & management of store communication, creation/communication of turnkey event formats & event directives, budget and recap process.
  3. Execute marquee events; inclusive of but not limited to cross functional team collaboration and hosting weekly status calls/meetings, invitation (hard copy and digital) development, event list curation, décor & activation design, catering, music, maintaining logo placement/standardsand fashion show production (as applicable).
  4. Manage event budgets & seasonal vendor chargeback’s for events for all Saks full-line stores, and support with monthly departmental reporting.

Personal Characteristics

The successful candidate should be a respected and proven thought leader in event execution strategic sourcing with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization.  He/she must have strong executive presence, business acumen, and the ability to quickly assess a new environment and develop solutions that support the business strategy, critical objectives, and cultural norms. He/she must be creative with a strategic mindset along with the ability to turn concepts into action.  He/she must have strong relationship building and influence skills. This role requires a player/coach mentality, capable of thinking strategically as well as rolling up one’s sleeves and getting into the work.  The successful candidate will be a change agent who is flexible, resilient, and able to thrive in a dynamic, rapid paced environment. 

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications

  1. Relevant public relations/event experience in fashion, entertainment or retail industries.  
  2. Contacts & Relationships with National Fashion editors. 
  3. Ability to manage several projects at one time in an organized and highly effective manner.  
  4. Strong sense of urgency and an ability to problem solve are also critical 
  5. 3-5 years experience preferred 

Educational Credentials

Bachelor’s Degree is required
