Job Description

Nine West Group has a great opportunity for a Corporate Merchandising Intern, for our the handbag and footwear brands. We are looking for an intern with a positive and enthusiastic attitude to work closely in the Merchandising department. The Intern primarily will assist the Merchandising team with reports, product and every-day functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

    • Maintain, analyze and generate weekly selling/departmental reports and business recaps as necessary

    • Analyze product performance using available reports

    • Assist in Market Prep (showroom set up, line sheets, etc)

    • Maintenance of showroom

    • Order writing: work with merchandising teams to ensure all orders are completed on a timely basis, communicate with the appropriate wholesale division/vendors, all order file maintenance and work with order entry on all contract entry/adjustments.

    • Understand and analyze direct competitors

    • Participate in department meetings

    • Be conversant with all retail systems

    • Special projects as assigned

    • Other duties as required

    • Working knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Microsoft Word).

    • Clear understanding and knowledge of retail math.

      Preferred skills:

    • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

    • Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
