Job description

The HR Business Partner - Retail is responsible for supporting our retail managers with a focus on performance management, employee relations and best practices training along with the performance of HR projects on an ongoing basis.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Performance Management & Talent Development
• Provide ongoing and proactive coaching to managers and employees
• Support managers in thinking through individual performance improvement and development plans

Employee Relations
• Provide best-practice training to managers on how to navigate employee relations issues and apply progressive disciplinary process consistently and fairly
• Support the drafting of documentation including but not limited to employee warnings
• Conduct independent investigations as needed
• Escalate issues in a timely manner in order to facilitate resolution

Recruitment & Onboarding/Offboarding
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to initiate job search and participate in recruitment process 
• Partner with hiring manger and HR management to determine compensation offers and obtain necessary approvals from senior management
• Work with hiring manager and HR Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding experience
• Work with business partners & Training Manager to improve overall efficiency related to onboarding of retail employees
• Conduct Exit Interviews, administer exit surveys, compile responses and report on trends in order to determine action plans 

Training
• Support HR Training for field management including HR Operations, Progressive Discipline, Annual Development Assessment training as needed
• Identify trends in training needs and work with management team to develop training materials

General HR Support
• Provide general administrative support to Director, HR, particularly with processing transactions in UltiPro and coordinating with HR Coordinator
• Act as primary point of contact with Retail Operations team
• Partner with Manager, HR Operations & Rewards to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
• Perform projects as needed or requested

Profile

Education/Experience:
• 2+ years experience in human resources in a high volume retail environment
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business or related field
• Experience in HRIS systems; UltiPro preferred
• Computer literate; learn and utilize various software packages.

Special Skills:
• Foreign Languages a plus
