Staff Accountant

Cult Gaia is a fast-growing Accessories and Women's Ready to Wear brand.  Started in 2012, Jasmin Larian had an eye for vintage details, unmatched quality and those special pieces that would make any girl stand out. Five years later and with the Instagram-success of the  Ark bag and our introduction of our RTW line, we are having huge growth via our ecommerce site along with being picked up by the most prestigious boutiques around the world.   As a result, we are seeking a detailed & results-driven Accountant & Financial Professional to oversee the daily accounting functions of our growing company! As an integral part of the team, the Staff Account is responsible for providing the full accounting cycle and ensuring the application of sound accounting principles and practices.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter and looking to grow with the team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Prepare daily journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.

o Actively manage AR/AP processes and perform daily/monthly/quarterly reconciliations.

o Preparation of month end intercompany invoices, journal entries, accruals, GL reconciliations, and various working papers to include accruals, adjustments and GL 
reconciliations.

o Build Excel reports from pulled data as needed.

o Build automated reports from technical / reporting programs.

o Perform daily routines and month end procedures.

o Preparation and analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and management reports accurately and in a timely manner.

o Budget building, analysis and forecasting.

o Compilation of annual and periodic budget reporting. 

o  Knowledge and understanding of tax planning & compliance.

o Ensure GAAP requirements & Standards are being adhered to appropriately.

o All other tasks and duties as assigned to support the team and department.


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Economics. 

o 3+ years of experience; Manufacturing & Retail accounting a plus.

o Advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong database skills

o Working knowledge of QuickBooks is a must.  Working knowledge of RLM is a PLUS.

o Strong financial acumen and analytical agility

Approximate Salary: 50,000
