HEAD DESIGNER OPPORTUNITY- Active Wear, based in LA

Seeking a Sr. Designer with 4-7 years to join fast growing brand, looking for a candidate who can create and execute original design concepts within the activewear category.

Design products from concept through completion within the time frame established by seasonal calendar.

Able to generate mood boards prior to designing a collection to showcase overall ideas, color stories and inspiration.

Must be able to generate branding and design details.

Must be able to design garments with function and quality in mind.

Able to generate hand and computer sketches, and work with them in Adobe Illustrator to show color and print options.

Must be able to merchandise designs in a way that the product sits together within the collection.

Must be able to create compressive tech packs for all designs that can be passed to international factories to produce from.

Select and review raw materials and trims; ensure maintenance of fabric/trim library. 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented

- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative

- Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketch

- Extensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim

- Must be able to create flat sketches by hand

- Must have strong design aesthetic, color sense and conceptual skills

- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design

- 4-7 years experience in apparel design, experience in activewear is preferred

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and MAC computers

- Must be a team player, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure
